Cold as Ice

I can’t remember when I wrote this, but it was some time ago. I just found it on my computer and realized I hadn’t put it up here. I don’t really play it much anymore live, but maybe I’ll tweak it and start playing it again.

Cold as Ice

Hello love, I am as cold as ice
But it’s the weather that gives me shivers up and down my spine
So don’t you pay no mind to my odd behavior
Just give me time to pull it back together

Hello dear, I do believe you’ll find
My heart is beating double
Double time bu-bump bu-bump bu-bump bu-bump bump bu-bu-bump
I hope it does not climb out of my chest and tell you all my secrets

Time heals everything
Can we start again?
It’s way too cold outside to be sweating like I am
So please ignore how I acted before: sweaty fingers and stuttered words
It’s just my nerves
You do that, you d-d-do that to me.

Hello dear, I have no state of mind
And it’s not the weather
That leaves my brain fried and me so tongue-tied.
So if you have any insights, that would be stellar
Cuz I can’t put two sentences together.

But they say that time heals everything
Can we start again?
It’s way to cold outside to be sweating like I am
So please ignore how I was before
Shaky fingers and s-s-stuttered words
You do that to me

Hello love I’m seeing visions of us in the future and we’re fine
If I could stop being so tongue-tied.
